The Hoods draw a crowd whenever they play and Saturday night was no exception. They came out rocking and looking totally pumped up for the show as they delivered another great high-energy performance on the main stage at The Vixen.

The New Frustrations Rock The Vixen For Mike Scag

I was attending the concert to photograph and write about The Neighborhoods but quickly realized that I would cover The New Frustrations if the opportunity arose. I wanted to be careful – everyone handles loss differently. But in the case of Tim, his desire was to, “raise a glass Saturday and rock your fucking sox’s off. Save the crying and sorrys for another day.”

Mission of Burma was a very different band when they hit the scene in Boston all those years ago. They used a lot of techniques that should make music less accessible – cacaphonous noise from the guitar, different rythyms than their contemporaries, the tape-loop and so forth and they borrowed from punk, hardcore and other genres to set a new direction in music.
