But by putting quotes around the passage, Pastor Michael has created a little fiction here. Although I am not a bible scholar, I think the fools were referred to as fools because they didn’t believe in God, not because they didn’t believe in creationism.

It’s a rainy, dreary day here in eastern Massachusetts and much of New England. Still, there was a break in the weather this afternoon. Enough for me to run up to Wright’s Tower with the kids and take in the view of downtown Boston. The skyscrapers are all clipped by the clouds.

This one is mostly about the photos, folks. This is a picture of Wright’s Pond taken from the far end on the Spot Pond Reservoir side looking back over towards the beach area. We walked all around the pond today and although the trail was a little slippery in places, it wasn’t too muddy and there wasn’t a lot of trash on the ground.

I don’t have the answer. I know they have work trains that can lift the rails, and work trains that can grab the ties and so forth, but there is a geometric problem here. There’s only so much space between the rails, and there’s only so much space between the rails and the platform (and the rails for the trains traveling in the opposite direction. And it doesn’t seem like enough space to extract a tie.

Now here I was taken a little off guard. I hadn’t intended to debate him - I was there to take the picture. But it got us to talking and I found that it’s very hard to win an argument over a statement like this with someone who believes in a literal interpretation of the bible.

But I did have a lot of explaining to do with Alex when they sat down for an intimate photo. We do cross the tracks, but we never play or sit on them.

There are stacks of palettes of railroad ties all around the West Medford station. They are bound with a flat metal strip. The end of this strip has been curled up to make a handle.

It’s not that it was all in my eyes and stuff. It wasn’t. But here’s the deal: I had a polarizer on and that means that I didn’t have the lens shade on, as it won’t fit around my polarizer holder. While I was looking through the viewfinder composing the shot, I couldn’t really see any impacts from shooting fairly directly at the sun. But that doesn’t mean they weren’t there.
