Well, I've been in London all week now. I'm just getting out before the chaos of Live8 begins at Hyde Park. I am actually only going to be at home for about 12 hours before we leave for an Independence Day weekend camping trip. And I just found out that one of my brothers-in-law works for Barack Obama. That's pretty cool.

 

A few nights ago, I went out to pick up a few items from the corner store and there was quite a commotion on the street. A few young kids were hanging out and being loud. As I passed by, I noticed a young woman hanging out of a window yelling loudly. I couldn't figure out what was going on. Her legs were inside the window, and her upper body was hanging down towards the ground. This being London, of course, 'ground' was a 15 foot drop into the basement level apartment of the townhouse. It didn't seem like that difficult a position to get out of, but it was very strange. As I got to the corner, there were three guys hanging out drinking and smoking by a pub. I heard a siren and saw the police coming.

 

I turned to the guys and said, "you're missing the girl hanging out of the window."

 

They spun around and watched as the police ran in, pulled up the girl, and started to get things sorted. Then there was nothing really left to see, so I began to walk on.

 

One of the guys turned to me and said, 'bit early in the evening for that, innit?'
