It was impossible for us to tell how much snow we got over the weekend in that storm because it was pretty light snow,
and the wind blew it all over the place. Based on the news reports of the surrounding communities, I'd say it was somewhere
between 22" and two feet. But this was a first for me.
The wind clearly took a lane around the side of the house, and look at the driveway. The left side is down to pavement,
and the right side tops out at around four feet. Is this wierd or what? I mean, look at how far this dune goes - from
the front yard all the way back around the porch. Nature is wierd sometimes.
I thought it would be simple to use the snow thrower on it, but it was deceptively hard. The dune was simply way
too high for my thrower, which cuts a 22" swatch vertically. My perception after having finished was that it was the
same volume of snow, just in a different configuration.
And then I turned around, and watched the sunset for a few minutes. It was about 10 degrees out, and my hands were cold,
but you don't get to see your street like this very often, even up here where we are supposed to get 3 to 7 additional inches
of snow tomorrow, by the way.
